See your book come to life
At last, you’re ready to write that book you’ve been talking about all these years.
You may want to:
Advance a new idea
Establish yourself as an expert
Share your process or methodology
Build your legacy for future generations
Serve as a role model for others to emulate
Inspire people to take action
Attract more clients
Yet you don’t know where to start. Or you wrote part of the book but got stuck. Perhaps you want your book to reach a broader audience than you’re used to writing for.
That’s where I come in. You can outsource some or all of the writing while you’re off doing other work. And I will slip your voice on to write it for you.
I can help you go from zero (where you have a great idea but nothing in writing) to a book outline, get you unstuck so your writing flows, act as a sounding board, edit your full manuscript, or ghostwrite your book from start to polished manuscript.
Imagine that.
Your book. At last.
About
Sandra Yin
Sandra’s ghostwriting and editing clients marvel at her ability to distill complex concepts into simple ideas. They value her ability to spot what needs tightening or fleshing out. And they appreciate her honesty and collegial approach to working with others.
A recovering journalist, she has seen her stories featured in many venues, including the Chicago Tribune, Associated Press, The New York Times, and American Way magazine, the largest in-flight magazine in the country. She has covered topics as varied as stool transplants (this isn’t about furniture), picky eaters, and how to market to fast-growing demographics.
In her spare time, Sandra enjoys reading, fostering dogs, and venturing off the beaten path.

Book Coaching
You may be a good candidate for book coaching if you need some guidance and structure to get started but ultimately want to do the heavy lifting.
When you take this DIY approach, you write. I edit. You will review my edits and revise, as you progress from chapter to chapter.
Manuscript Editing
When you’ve drafted your full manuscript, the best edits come from someone who approaches the project with unbiased “fresh eyes.” Ideally, this editing phase involves several passes, including musical line editing—which makes the book even more readable—and proofreading by another set of fresh eyes.
Book Ghostwriting
Another option is the done-for-you approach, when your ghostwriter writes the book for you. From your standpoint, this done-for-you option means the writing process is relatively pain-free. You, the author, are responsible for reviewing, revising, and approving chapter drafts, all based on a timeline we agree on at the outset.
Analysis & Recommendations
The A&R is a feature of the ghostwriting process. Typically, if the author can share the first 25-50 pages of their book, I assess it and identify what makes the book stand out. And I make recommendations related to flow, structure, market viability, character development, and more.
If no partial manuscript exists, after we chat, I can develop a short A&R.
Query letter + submission list
I can help you find and solicit literary agents or publishers for your niche market. If you choose to go the traditional publishing route, you’ll need a query letter and a list of agents/publishers who handle your book genre, and a book proposal. This service involves extra research and writing tailored to each agent or publisher.
Proposal
If you plan to submit your manuscript to a literary agent or publisher, you’ll need a book proposal. A non-fiction proposal tells agents and publishers who you are and what makes you qualified to write the book. Nonfiction book proposals can be submitted before you have a complete manuscript. They include: an industry analysis, a comparison with competing titles in the market, a synopsis of the book, a chapter outline, 2–3 sample chapters, and existing or upcoming promotional appearances, websites, or social media you plan to use to promote the book.
