… to create your book

Book Coaching

You may be a good candidate for book coaching if you need some guidance and structure to get started but ultimately want to do the heavy lifting.

When you take this DIY approach, you write. I edit. You will review my edits and revise, as you progress from chapter to chapter.

Manuscript Editing

When you’ve drafted your full manuscript, the best edits come from someone who approaches the project with unbiased “fresh eyes.” Ideally, this editing phase involves several passes, including musical line editing—which makes the book even more readable—and proofreading by another set of fresh eyes.

BOOK GHOSTWRITING

Another option is the done-for-you approach, when your ghostwriter writes the book for you. From your standpoint, this done-for-you option means the writing process is relatively pain-free. You, the author, are responsible for reviewing, revising, and approving chapter drafts, all based on a timeline we agree on at the outset.

ANALYSIS & RECOMMENDATIONS

The A&R is a feature of the ghostwriting process. Typically, if the author can share the first 25-50 pages of their book, I assess it and identify what makes the book stand out. And I make recommendations related to flow, structure, market viability, character development, and plausibility.

If no partial manuscript exists, after we chat, I can develop a short A&R.

QUERY LETTER + SUBMISSION LIST

I can help you find and solicit literary agents or publishers for your niche market. If you choose to go the traditional publishing route, you’ll need a query letter and a list of agents/publishers who handle your book genre, and a book proposal. This service involves extra research and writing tailored to each agent or publisher.

PROPOSAL

To submit a nonfiction manuscript to a literary agent or publisher, you’ll need a book proposal that tells them why you’re qualified to write the book and how you plan to promote it. It will include: an industry analysis; a comparison with competing titles in the market; a synopsis of the book; a chapter outline; 2–3 sample chapters.
